Villa Bogdano 1880 is a historic wine estate in the Veneto, defined by old vines, native varieties and an unusually progressive approach to vineyard preservation.
Trellage became its ongoing strategic and creative partner across brand, design, digital, packaging, UK market PR, events and trade support.
We shifted the focus to what was already there: historic Tocai Friulano vineyards, rare examples of the Cassone Padovano training system, certified-organic farming, biodiversity and a long-term programme of massal selection and viticultural research.
The challenge was to transform this depth into a clearer brand, a more coherent visual identity and a market presence capable of supporting the estate's ambitions.

We repositioned Villa Bogdano around the idea of living vineyard heritage: vines not preserved as static monuments, but studied, worked with, and used to build a more resilient future.
Historic vines, native varieties, biodiversity, traditional systems.
Research, massal selection, resilience, long-term development.
“Villa Bogdano exists to preserve the living heritage of its historic vineyards while exploring how that heritage
can shape the future.”
Protecting the estate's living vineyard heritage and the biodiversity surrounding it.
Taking the slower, more demanding path when it produces something more distinctive and enduring.
Exploring new ideas in viticulture and winemaking through science, observation and intuition.
Once the strategic foundation was established, we aligned the estate's principal touchpoints
into one coherent system, in sequence.
Mission, pillars, logo, colour, type and layout: a living system, not decorative rules.
The historic Diana symbol retained, with more prominence given to the estate name.
History, vineyards, wines and sustainability brought into one narrative.
Coherence across the range while each wine keeps its own role and character.
Ceremony, context and recognition for trade and private clients.
A narrative built on rarity, survival and the genetic continuity of the vines.
Colour, type and the logo were rebuilt from the estate itself,
so every application reads as one brand.
Drawn from the estate and its physical environment, restrained enough
for premium communication, distinctive enough to build recognition.
Headlines and expressive brand moments.
Headlines and expressive brand moments.
The historic Diana symbol, derived from an archaeological discovery on the estate, was retained. We refined the composition to give more space and prominence to the Villa Bogdano name
We specialise where wineries, trade and market meet:
Our network of designers, wine buyers, sommeliers, journalists,
importers, private clients and strategic partners are our core.
A premium winery event can easily become just another tasting.
The objective was not simply to introduce Cento or present the range. It was to create the conditions in which buyers, sommeliers, journalists and collectors could understand why the wines mattered, and leave with a story they could repeat.
"Is there a market for quality aged Italian white wine?"
A selected panel of buyers, merchants, sommeliers and consultants brought together with The Buyer at Gaucho Piccadilly.
The debate established genuine interest in the category while avoiding purely promotional coverage.
Participants identified both opportunity and friction, giving Villa Bogdano something more useful than applause:
informed market feedback.

Smaller and more concentrated: one wine, one native variety, one extraordinary vineyard story.

A Model
A repeatable model for future market activations.
The identity needed to feel historically grounded without becoming nostalgic, and
to communicate experimentation without losing the gravity of a long-established estate.
A visual language that could only belong to Villa Bogdano.

Photographs of the old vines translated into organic, lino-print-style illustrations, retaining irregularity, texture, age and the individuality of each plant.
Value comes from specificity, not polish.

Cleaner interpretations and photography of the vines. Because each vine has its own sculptural form, the system generates endless layouts, branches framing content and dividing sections, without losing recognition.

A concentrated expression of the identity, focused on the source of the wine: historic vines, Tocai Friulano Giallo, the Cassone Padovano system, manual cultivation and genetic continuity.
The box and its materials transform the wine from an isolated bottle into a more complete narrative object, connecting the old vineyard with the estate's future.
The story, logo, website, labels, packaging, events and communications now work as parts of the same system. As Villa Bogdano develops new wines, research and international relationships, the brand provides the structure to ensure each activity contributes to the same long-term position.
